There are few things worse than forking over your hard earned
money only to realize (usually quickly) that you made a mistake
joining a particular survey site. This article is here to
help you avoid that mistake.
There are two types of survey sites out there. The first
are the ones that are frequently updated, offer bonuses for
joining, and value their customers. The other type usually
contains a list of outdated Market Research companies, and no
actual survey data. They rely on slick sales script to get
you to buy and once you've given them your money you won't get
much else out of them. So how do you protect yourself?
1) You've made the first step by coming to this site. We
feature only the best survey and opinion poll sites. They
have frequently updated content, and many of them offer nice
bonuses for joining.
2) When you DO decide to join a site, use an actual credit card
if at all possible. Bank cards are handy to purchase
things, but if you decide you want a refund and can't get one
from the site directly your only recourse will be to do a
chargeback on your card. It is often very difficult to get
chargebacks through on bank cards, and if you do, it may take
you 60 days to see your money back in your account where your
credit card company will give you a temporary credit for the
purchase until the chargeback is finalized.
3) Go with your gut. If what you're reading on the site
sounds too good to be true it probably is. It would be
nice if we could get rich sitting around doing surveys all day,
but that isn't reality. If a site is promising more than
you think is realistic, run, don't walk the other way.
$5-75 for a survey and $75-150 for focus groups are realistic
figures. A $10 to $25 instant survey bonus for joining is
realistic. Promising that by this time next week you'll be
dining on the beach in Tahiti from your survey income is not.
4) Shop around. On this site we feature 5 quality survey
sites for you to choose from. If one doesn't sit right
with you for any particular reason, select another one and use
them instead. The difference in investment you make will be very minimal
from site to site, and a couple of dollars is worth peace of
mind.
Please note that scam sites are the exception and not the rule.
By in large this industry is very straight forward and the
people selling information are on the up and up, but as they
say, it only takes a few bad apples...
Lastly, if you have been the victim of a fraudulent survey site,
I would like to hear about it. This means that you have
actually taken the time to contact the companies provided and
take advantage of their offers. Unfortunately, some people feel
they will join a market research site and cash will suddenly
start pouring in. It does take a tiny bit of effort on
your part to make the register ring. But if it
hasn't worked and you feel it is directly related to the quality
of the site, shoot an email with all the details to
scams@surveysthatpaybest.com, I'd like to hear your story.
Thanks for reading, and best of luck in your new venture!
